Eric C Hughes is a Houston-based drummer and performer.  He grew up in New Hampshire and has his BA in Music from Plymouth State University and his MM in Studio Music & Jazz from the University of Miami (FL).  

Eric moved to Texas in 2001 where he quickly worked his way into the local music scenes in both Austin and Houston.  Over the last 18 years Eric has worked with The El Orbits, Mike Stinson, Jesse Dayton, Rick Broussard's Two Hoots and A Holler, Tony Scalzo (Fastball), Archie Bell, Roy Head, Barbara Lynn and several others listed below.

He currently performs full time with BLAGGARDS and The Allen Oldies Band and is on call for several other acts in Houston, Austin, and beyond.

Since 2013, Eric has been the Drum Set Committee Chairman for the Percussive Arts Society.

Eric is a retired K-12 Music teacher in the state of Texas and has taught percussion studies and directed award-winning ensembles at Westside HS and Hightower HS.
